United States, 19th Sep 2026 — Z-Text LLC, developer of a privacy-focused blockchain messaging application built on BitcoinZ, is developing a disposable messaging identity. The planned feature would allow users to create a temporary, cryptographically separate identity, use it for messaging, and remove the identity’s local key when it is no longer needed.
The feature extends Z-Text’s existing account architecture, which does not require a phone number, SIM card, or email address for identity creation. Z-Text is currently in private beta as the company prepares for a planned early October 2026 application release.

A temporary identity without a permanent profile
“A temporary identity can be useful when someone does not want a short-term contact or conversation connected to their primary identity,” said Eric Pierrot, founder of Z-Text LLC. “The feature follows the same design principle as the rest of Z-Text: messaging does not require a phone number.”
The disposable identity is designed to separate a temporary identity from a user’s primary Z-Text identity. When the user removes the disposable identity, the local key is destroyed. This affects the user’s future ability to access the identity, but it does not erase content already recorded on the BitcoinZ blockchain.
Z-Text does not claim that disposable identities make blockchain messages disappear. The company’s position is that shielded permanence and removal of local access are different privacy properties.
Five functions in one application
Z-Text combines private messaging, a crypto wallet, password management, on-chain Channels, and disposable identities in one application.
The application uses identity derived from a 24-word seed phrase rather than a phone number, email address, or SIM card. Z-Text also states that it uses zk-SNARKs-based privacy technology and a hybrid key-exchange design involving ML-KEM-768 and X25519.
Z-Text has published a technical threat model describing the product’s design and known limitations. The company is also operating a funded bug bounty program while preparing for an independent security audit.
Context: identity requirements elsewhere
India’s Department of Telecommunications requires several major messaging apps to continuously reverify SIM presence, and the U.S. FCC has an open proceeding (Docket 17-59/02-278) that would require government ID before phone-line activation. Because Z-Text does not require a phone number for account creation, those phone-line requirements do not apply to that specific onboarding method.
Current status
The disposable-identity feature is in active development and is not being presented as a completed, independently audited feature. Z-Text is currently available through a private beta program.
